I am glad to see this. My receipt said mine was shipped on the 18th and I am still waiting - but it has to pretty much come cross country.
Now I have to figure out how to store them with such limited space in our motor home. I do not have room for notebooks and such. I am thinking of using layers of recycled cardboard or acrylic packaging in some kind of a box. They have to be pretty handy or I will not use them so much, I know!
I think I am going to pass on lot 2. I'm just worried that it's going to be more of the same: lots of flowers. I love lot one but I surely don't need more flowers - LOL. I'm going to wait to see what he comes up with for the next batches: stamps pads etc. or purchase a 1/2 lot form someone.
Last I checked there were 8 left....
I got one, I got one, I got one! *big grins* Lolol, and now I'll have to decide whether to continue reading here or not look again til I get my stamps so that they're a surprise ;)
Now I'm panicking that because he got such amazing feedback from Lot 1, he'll have majorly down-graded the lots. I bought a pound of unmounted rubber from somewhere else because I couldn't wait for Lot 2, and now I've bought this as well. Buyer's remorse, lol, fingers crossed that it's banished when the stamps get here ;)
My order has arrived.
Yippie, only that im heading out to a wedding, so won't be able to see the stamps until tonight =(
But the waiting for lot 1 has finished, now lot 2 =)
Ok...I went through my stamps and am really impressed. Had 6 really cute Christmas Stamps. I've already stamped out the ones that I wasn't really sure what they were. Now I've got a question.....what is everyone doing with the stamps? Are you going to mount them or leave as they are? And...how are you storing them?
I am going to mount mine on wood block and sort them in huge ziplock bags by category like I do now with my wood mounted stamps. Already negotiated to buy 2 priority boxes full of wood blocks!
Barbie, yes! You can mount them right onto wood blocks--but you don't have to. They come with adhesive foam and it is already closely trimmed. I hope the second batch comes that way, too.
I don't think you will need to use doublesided tape. The stamps have that cling foam mount. I found some Scotch Printable Transparent Sheets for scrapbooking and cardmaking, and I'm stamping the image on the rough side, the printable side, and then putting the stamps on the smooth side. That's working very well for me and I will use my acrylic blocks when I use them. I too am categorizing them. These transparencies sheet are working great. Can't wait to get set 2.
I haven't received lot 2 yet, but Nikki if you want to 1/2 it with me that would be great.
As for the acrylic block, do you think the cheap 1.50 ones at Michaels would work????
The adhesive on the back of these stamps is PERMANENT adhesive. It is NOT cling foam mount. You really have three options:
1. Mount on wood blocks
2. Use the permanent adhesive to mount on a static cling sheet to use with acrylic blocks. Here is a source: http://www.stampostore.com/bargain-b...rod_14131.html The cling sheet is similar to the things some of us have stuck to our windows during the holidays. When you put this on the back of your stamp, you don't need to trim it close. In fact it is recommended that you leave some space around your stamp in order to grab it and pull it off the block easier. I've used it and I still prefer option #3 below:
3. Put double sided tape on your acrylic block, leave the protective paper on the back of your stamp and use the double sided tape to form a temporary bond while you stamp. This is the cheapest, easiest, and most space saving. I'd recommend this one until you figure out which stamps you'll use alot.
I suppose there is a fourth option for die-hard cling foam mount fans and that would be painfully ripping off the permanent foam that is currently on there and replacing it with the cling foam. People have done that with thier Stampin Up stamps, but it sounds like too much work to me.
As for acrylic blocks, cheap or expensive, it doesn't matter. Some of them have a grid on them which is good for lining things up, but not really necessary.
ILuvCherries, sometimes you can find people giving the blocks away after they've unmounted thier Stampin Up stamps, and just ask for postage. Sometimes they charge. I don't know other than that. If you're handy in the wood shop, you can cut your own wood blocks.
I just got my lot! What a wonderful assortment of stamps. I was hoping for some more animal types with no luck.
***Anyone want the 63 stamps that I dont want for 9.45 plus 4.80 priority shipping? THere is a mixture of some christmas, lady, flowers, wording etc...
