This is great! I've been busy for the past week and almost forgot. Just made my donation.
Thanks to everyone who contributed and donated...what a great community SCS is!
Got it! Glad to know your crafts were not in the basement. I like your idea of putting a glass floor in the living room. You could put goldfish in the basement. Ultra cool decor!!!
Thanks Garnet! I thought about the goldfish. We have some down there right now, but they're in an aquarium. What they must be thinking...swimming around in their little home when right next to them is this huge pond!!! Thanks again for your thoughtfulness Garnet.
Take a gander at those totals!!!! Wowzer!! Peggysue!!! All for a thought! What a great idea and better yet how GREAT to see it all happen!!! Thanks to all of you....Daven, Jen, PeggySue, SCSers!!!! Way to go!!!!!

I live in Northeast Iowa where we got hit with the tornados and flooding. My cousin , his wife and four children lost everything, including their new home, except their lives in the deadly Memorial Day tornados. One of my best friends lost her house in the tornados, then again lost the rental house two weeks later due to flooding. My husband's grandmother lost her home-completely-82 years old and starting over again. It has been an amazing thing to be apart of and experience. The outpouring of help, people randomly making donations, helping strangers rebuild, clothing, car dealers giving away cars, etc. My sister in law put it best when she was asked by a little child why God would do such horrible things-"They teach us the depth of our connection to each other. They give us the opportunity to clothe and feed and comfort our neighbor, to be brother to the stranger, to live the love of Jesus in each other's lives." I don't think I could be prouder than I am right now. Thank you all so much.

It's Friday August 8th. I've looked all over and can't find the list of winners. Those prizes are great! Can someone point me at the list or tell me what time the winners are supposed to be posted?
And I can't *wait* to see the TOTAL donation amount! This whole non-raffle / donation drive is just a great thing!
Look for a total & a list of who's gettin' what sometime later this evening. We're waiting on a final total and a randomly-drawn list to plug in. Once we do that, we'll post to the home page and then edit the gallery items themselves with the new owner's name as well as information on how to claim the item.

Sounds good. As you can tell, I'm really excited (that stuff is GREAT!), and not the most patient person.
But I'd bet dollars to donuts I'm not the only one chomping at the bit
As a resident of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, IA for most of my very LOOOONG life, I am so proud of SCS for the tremendous outpouring of donations. All of my family escaped serious personal harm, but my brother's office was completely under water (on the first floor in downtown CR). What a mess!
As a stamper, I can hardly wait to see who wins what! PLEASE let us know ASAP!! The suspense is killing me! :p

so either you grew up in Wisconsin or are a Packer fan! Which is it??????
I grew up in cental WI (Wausau), went to school at Madison and after graduation GOT OUT OF THERE!
I live in a much more temperate climate now. It doesn't even go under freezing and is rarely ever humid. If I want snow, I can drive to it in <4 hours (well, not at this time of the year) and then I can drive home and away from the snow. The ocean is less than an hour away.
However, I was back in WI just this past weekend for a family reunion in the Dells. Boy, it sure is green (and therefore pretty) back there! I also miss fall and thunderstorms. But I don't miss tornados!
I'm certainly a midesterner at heart. I make things, love to play cards, that kind of stuff. A lot of my friends are from the midwest too. But I belong living out here (between San Francisco and San Jose.)
It's hard to grow up in WI and not be a packer fan. So when I'm watching football (which is not very often), I'll certainly root for them.
Someone said to me when I moved out here "I was watching the packer game the other day and I thought their colors where green and gold." I responded "they are." Their follow up question was "then how come so many people in the stands have orange on?" I'll let you non midwesterners try to figure that one out!
I grew up in the Dells area and have been back there many times--so you saw first hand the damage from rain in June?????
I still love it hear and when I retire next summer after teaching 33 years, I am headed to Minneapolis--go figure
Orange in the stands of a Packer game--yes, that and guys with shirts off!!!!!
