No. "Bumping" is putting the thread on the top of the list so more people see it. "Subbing" means you are subscribing to the thread in order to follow what is posted on it.
It seems to be a common misconception that you have to post to a thread to sub to it when in fact all you have to do is go under "thread" above and follow the directions.
So glad that Laura is working on getting someone else to take over her wonderful site. Thanks again, Laura, for all your hard work in putting the original site together and wishing you all the best as you move forward with your new endeavours.
Well, thanks for taking on the responsibility of that site.....I used it quite frequently in years past, not so much lately tho'. I guess I will have to get a color coach now....that's okay too.
Thanks You for all your hard work and sharing with all of us....subbing so i can see where the site will be.
THANKS AGAIN!!

Don't worry. ALL the combos are safe as is the rest of the site. It took some arm twisting of my Ex to get it all off before the site went down, but I managed to get him to do it.
I am planning on letting someone else take over the site, it's just a matter of getting things transferred.

Thank you for clarifying these terms.

I have to chime in here too. I miss this site! I really appreciate all the work that went into preparing it. I am looking forward to when this will be back up for use. I really rely on the combos as I am terrible at coming up with my own.

I'm with you on that -- well not that you're an idiot ;) - but that I'd be happy to help out with a donation too!!
I was so disappointed when I went there the other day and it was gone - so would love if someone took it over - and thanks Laura for doing it all this time!!

Already miss the site....just found out today that it was down and came on splitcoast to see if I have favorited the wrong domain name or if it had changed. Looking forward to using it again soon....thanks for creating and keeping it active....will see how the $$ work out and if donations are needed.

I just found out about this too. I hope it is back soon. I love this site. Would be willing to chip in too.
Thanks for all the hard work you did to create the site. Tell the "ex" thanks too!

I wanted to consult the color combos site last night and was truly distressed to see that it was not available. I have so loved using it. Thanks for the past availability and I hope we can figure out a way to keep it going.
When you post to a thread, you are automatically subscribed (unless you deliberately change that in your profile someplace).
What many people don't realize is that at the top of each thread is a link, called "Thread Tools" and you can click "Subscribe to this thread."
So we get tons of "subbing" posts in threads like these.
I, too, just found out that the site went down. I had not looked at "announcements" and someone in a SU! group pointed it out.
Laura: Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the time and effort you put into the Scraptitude Color Combos site. I have visited your site often--usually in the wee hours of the morning--to come up with color combination inspiration. Your site was in my bookmarks and without a doubt, the one most often used by me. The capabilities of your site certainly are not the same as using a color wheel to come up with amazing color combinations (at least, not for me; perhaps, I am color wheel challenged). In the meantime, I will muddle through (and check out past SCS color combination challenges for inspiration!) On a personal note, I wish you well in your future endeavors.
To whomever the new owner will be: I am looking forward to seeing the site up and running again and will try to help out however I can in the form of a donation if that will be necessary.
I just found out about this :( So sad to see it go but it's nice to know that it may come back through someone else. Thanks Laura for having it up in the past and all the work that went with it. I used it more times than I could count!
I also want to thank you. I generally don't use SU paper/cardstock but I have used the site for suggestions for other company's cardstock colours. It gave me many ideas. From what I have read it is a well used site. What a hard decision you had to make and will have to make.
Re the word 'subbing' - I read somewhere that people put that message in the message list because then they can see how much they have read. They don't have to start at the beginning again.

when you return to a previously viewed thread at the top of the first page under reply is a line that says "View First Unread " you can click in that and it will take you to right where you left off. Very handy!

How cool is that!! It's on every page! Thanks for teaching me something new today about SCS!
Just found out about all of this...Laura, thank you for providing such a wonderful site, and for your willingness to work with someone else so it can continue. It was such a helpful site for all my customers especially. I know the time something like that takes. Providing it at your own cost was more than generous. Thanks and we wish you the best.
