Well after the last 6 months of hell, and right smack dab in the middle of a brutal divorce, I finally decided that I am going to sign up to become a Stampin Up Demo! One because I love the stuff, and 2 because I can and no longer have a psycho jerk of a husband to dictate to me!!!
I am so excited...it's about time eh? I've not been on scs for a while, and I was just so excited about this.
So I am wondering what your best suggestions are for business, ideas and cool tips and tricks....I am so excited.....
Thanks
Congratulations!!! Since I'm a hobby demo who only buys to support my own habit, I can't offer any business tips. I do want to say that I loudly applaud your decision to reclaim your independence (been there, too) and best of luck!
Congrats! Your kids look super and they sure don't need a parental influence like that. What a courageous (sp?) move on your part. Good luck with your business and life!

So sorry to hear that you are going thru some hell right now--but GOOD FOR YOU!! for deciding to do something positive for yourself! I am mostly a hobby demo, but I do try to have camps every 6 weeks or so. If you have enough interested friends, try to start a club! That is on my list of things to do. Best of luck, and don't forget to join the demo forum here on SCS. You'll get lots of great advice and ideas there!
Here's some advice, although it may sound harsh, I mean it well (former divorce lawyer here).
Do your best to forget the divorce when you are trying to sell. Put it in a box so to speak and put it on a shelf and deal with it when you have to, but leave stamping and your demoship for the non divorce time. Take it off your signature line here at SCS and don't let it define the rest of your life or your demoship. Your customers will want to be with someone who is fun, relaxed and willing to share good ideas. I'm not saying that you don't have the right to feel angry, overwhelmed, etc. Just don't let it interfere with your SU business. Good luck on the demoship and the divorce. I'm so sorry. Must be awful.

They best advice I could give is to watch your purchases. There's alot of enablers here --- (and I mean that with love) but you don't NEED everything to be successful. My sidelide(best buddy) demoed for a whole year with only bold bringhts! I bought lots in the beginning and brought about alot of financial issues.
On a personal note (from someone who divorced 2 years ago with 2 small children to care for) keep a small space/amount of time for YOU.
I just re read my post and gee, I feel like I put my foot in my mouth. I hope it didn't sound as snarky as I think it might have. I meant well. I just want you to have time for you and stamping and not let the divorce seep into every nook and cranny of your life. I so hope it works out for you.

Congrats! Been there done that and wish you the best. I think Joan has some good advice...I didn't think it snarky at all...strong, but wise. Business advice? Play & have fun with it...it'll come across to your customers and they'll love that. So enjoy what you do (even if you have to fake it sometimes) you're enthusiasm will be contagious. Best wishes!!
best wishes from someone who lived w/ parents who should have divorced long before they did. that been said jump in and have some fun.
best advice join on the demo side of this site as soon as you receive your demo number more advice and answered questions there then you personally could ask.
