This is terrible, I feel really bad for the demo that I was doing business with. She was actually one of TAC's top sellers too. This has got to be really difficult for her. :(

Good question. I have a really long answer, but I won't bore you with the "Life is a Risk", "To Never Try is to Fail", etc.
Short answer:
They want to keep doing something they love. I guess the risk and the money that may be lost is worth it to them.???
I'm not brave like that. I don't invest in anything except my son. I put him thru college and since the day he graduated he has never needed to depend on me for anything. So that was/is a great investment.
I'm not a risk taker, so I admire people who are. I bought a house one time and kept it for a year and sold it, made a $10,000 profit. Thought I would be smart and do it again. After the year I couldn't sell that house and had to just about give it away to get rid of it. I didn't lose anything, I pretty much came out even. But, that was it for me. So, I don't take risk.
It would be really interesting to know how many Angels TAC had and how many do sign up with another company within the next six months.
This is a good answer. I was thinking about people being able to work for brick and mortar stores instead. While those go out of business too, they don't require a financial investment. But then a lot of demos live in rural or semi-rural areas without good acess to these stores. Wanting to do what you love to do may not be as easy as I (who live in a big city) thought.
wow I just heard they closed their doors. I am not surprised at all. I used to be a demo with them, but I found their stamps rather boring. Now what am I going to do with all their stamp i have?

Surprising. I can't imagine working as a demo or consultant for a company whose products I found boring.
I'm sure you'll have some success on the BST forum here - looks like a lot of people are going to miss buying new TAC stamps!
AMEN .......... WOW ..... tell it like it is .. Girlfriend!!

If I were that customer, I'd want my consultant to be up front with me.
I've never bought anything from The Angel Company, but I'm always sorry to hear that a stamp company or store is going out of business.
Many angels' comm. checks bounced due to the company closing sooner than they probably planned. More than likely this is because of someone leaking the news when we were asked for confidentiality. I do miss the ability to purchase TAC stamps. I think they were much more elegant than A Muse that many angels have gone to and I truly think this past catty had the best images yet - I REALLY like them.

so sorry to hear that. I always loved many of their products. Must be very hard on the workers who didn't get notice and were unable to let their customers know. I am sure all their customers (at least most) were very understands. Hugs to you Angels.

This last Catalog was the BEST one I've seen in many many years. I started with them in Dec. 2004 and left in Dec 2010.
Sorry to hear that your Check bounced. That would make me a little upset too. Counting on that money.
I stopped selling a few tears ago when they went all "swirly". Almost every set was a swirl of some form. I had been watching the company after that, waiting for a change in the image direction. Yep, this catty was finally what I had been looking for. Go figure. So sad.
Hey Nancy B.
Keeping it small may be the wise way to go until this economy recovers.
I used to have customers order $100 so they could get the hostess perks.
Past year they would only order $30-40.
And my $30-40 customers werent ordering at all.

ditto! I had quite a few excited about the new catalog but I only had two orders that first month...I think everyone was getting a wish list together but not ready to order. Good luck with your new venture - I think it's really exciting!

I so agree with this! In this economy I am so thankful SU! doesn't allow cash and carry! At times I've wished differently but having inventory on hand would probably have sunk me!!! Wherever Angels go I hope they take your advice and keep that initial investment small. Smart people on this board with great advice! I love SCS!!!
oh wow I am a demo for The Angel Company . I just do it for personal use. I have been with them for a few years now. I just learned of this info. Oh how sad I am. I kept going to the website and it said it was down for maintenace. Thought something was wrong when it was down for so long so I did a search and found this. I must have overlooked the message or didn't get one. I was putting me together a wish list just tonight of the stamps I wanted. They had quite a few cute stamps in the new catty that just came out. I am so sad!!!!
I was impressed with this latest book. I am a demo and I loved having classes in my home. I am a stamper will continue to do so. I Loved their prices and stamps.
Before everyone jumps here lets take a step back....Many of us are devastated and are handling things in different ways...Please as Angels don't jump all over this new Angel....Her feelings are valid to her and we should respect that. I was a demo for ten years and have gone thru a RANGE of emotions, Shock, denial, fear pain, betrayal ...Hopefully soon I will move on and remember the GREAT things I got to do and see.All of the awesome friends I met....Lets just be there for each other and support all the feelings that are going on.....No matter what I'll always be an "Angel" my tattoo says so...
Amen I am also an Angel I see you are from Chester MT. I am in Corvallis, MT. I agree with you-- I do pain for the new demo. God doesn't close a door that He doesn't open a window! We agonoze for her.
I've read so many of you saying that the latest catalog was one of the best.... I'm glad I didn't get the chance to see the new catty. I won't know what I missed.
Makes me wonder how many TAC sets will hit eBay and how high those prices will go.
I have 3 TAC sets and my first temptation was to toss them out.
I was not a Demo, but the way so many were hurt by the way this was handled leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I certainly won't buy more TAC sets not even if they are cheap.

The thing is, if you buy sets now, you will be buing to help the former demos get rid of some of their stamps and helping them move on to their next venture, you won't be helping the company since they won't get any of their money. So if you like something you see, I don't see any harm in buying it.
thanks Ladies. I did check your sales. I'm looking for the Brandy and Emma stamps, Sweet Nativity and the set with the roses made from dots. They were new in the "current" catty. I did find Bubbles of Fun from a dear lady I traded with before who was kind enough to part with it.

These are some of the most coveted stamps around - especially the Brandy and Emma stamps!
STAMP2STAMP2 (AGAIN): Computer is going crazy this morning!
As a buyer of manufacturing items I worked with companies who filed for bankruptcy under one of the catagories but was able to keep doing business while they reorganized their company under the direction of the courts. Wonder why Mischelle couldn't have done something like that so the reps wouldn't have suffered in any way.

Some companies are able to do that and I also know some can't - there have been other companies that have also stopped doing business - The Angel Company isn't the first (and, unfortunately, won't be the last).
does anyone know if the Angel company has a support group - just wondering I had my last two paycheck bounce from them and wanted to know if anyone else got it to. Thanks
Oh Debbie!! I'm so sorry to hear that!! OMGosh!! I presume the bank has frozen all funds now that they are out of business. Michelle has a facebook page. Maybe you can contact her thru that? Just a suggestion. Good luck!!

There is a group called Paper Wings Online for former TAC Angels but the SCS Forum won't allow me to post the URL! Don't understand this rule ... why is that?
Just type the "www", remove the paces from the title, and put the "com" at the end.
